PAK - CHINA CULTURAL & BUSINESSMEN SOCIETY
A Brief History
President of Karachi Awami League Mr. Akhter Ali Khan and Secretary General Mr. A. B. Chughtai of those days were the founders of this society, they were afterwards elected as President and General Secretary of this Society. Then Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Hussain Shaheed Soharwardy became the 1st Chief Patron of this Society. Following renowned persons were among the founder members of the society. Mr. Akhter Ali Khan, Mr. A. B. Chughtai, Mr. Shoaib Hameedi, Mr. Khalil Tarmizi, Mr. Manzoor-ul-Haq, Mr. Sagheer Jafri, Mr. Ziaul Qayyum Barni, Mr. Zamir Muslim, Mr. Wajahat Mirza, Mr. Nisar Ahmed. Some of these persons have departed and some are still holding holding the responsibilities of the society. There were many difficulties in those days for the society. But due to independent and peaceful foreign policy of Prime Minister Hussain Shaheed Soharwardi Pakistan and China became good friends and anti-communism feelings of the people gradually diminished.
Pak China Cultural Society worked hard to bring people of both the countries closer and now people of Pakistan consider Chinese people as their brothers. The friendship of Pakistan and China has now reached on such highest peaks that Himaliya seems below that height. During the past 40 years China has made remarkable progress in economic development, scientific and technological fields. Now Pakistani Nation is also looking forward to economic revolution in the country and economic development is only possible if business communities would be given full support and free hand. After considering on these lines Pak-China Cultural Society immediately called a meeting and decided that society will contact business communities. Society formed a three member committee for making contacts with business community. Members of this committee are Mr. Sagheer Jafri, Mr. Hsi Ping Tsui and Mr. M.I. Anwar. After hectic efforts the three member committee has succeeded in selecting few of the best business tycoons of the country who are already making good efforts in improving country’s economic conditions.
On 13th August, 2003, Executive Committee of Pak-China Cultural Society held an important meeting at their office at Raja Ghazanfar Ali Road, Saddar, Karachi under the Presidentship of Founder Member Sagheer Jafri and unanimously decided that the name Pak-China Cultural and Businessmen Society be changed as Pak-China Cultural & Businessmen Society. Following Executive Committee members attended this historic meeting of the society. Founder member Mr. Sagheer Jafri, Miss Shumaila Sagheer Advocate, Mrs. Humaira Khawar, Syed Kazim Raza, Mr. Muhammad Asim, Mr. Azmat Ali, Mr. Hsi Ping Tsui, Mr. M.I. Anwar, Mr. Shahid Hafeez, Mr. Hafeez, Mr. Noor MOhammad and Mr. Anwar Iqbal were present. The Executive Committee meeting unanimously elected Mr. Anwar Iqbal as Chairman & Mr. Dewan Mohammad Yousuf Farooqui as Chief Patron of the Society.

Remarkable success has been achieved since the founding of Pak-China Cultural and Businessmen Society, Notably in the fields of Peoples cooperation and friendship. Peoples of Both the countries now have good understanding and are close and friendly then any other neighboring country of Pakistan. After Society’s efforts now we can say that China is our best friend and Chinese Government and people have always helped us in our difficult times. One can say that we can rely on Chinese people. Pak-China Cultural and Businessmen Society always celebrate National Days & other festivals of Pakistan & China. Every year we celebrate National Day of China with great enthusiasm. In these programs Chinese enjoys their happiness with Pakistani people.
On many occasions Pak-China Cultural and Businessmen Society hold seminars and different types of exhibitions, such as Chinese books exhibition, Chinese paintings, Calendars & Diaries exhibition, Chinese photography exhibition, Chinese handicraft exhibition, Chinese food festival etc. Society arrange these exhibitions in every big city of Pakistan. Now Pak-China Cultural and Businessmen Society is working to establish Pak-China Cultural Centre at Karachi with kind cooperation of Chinese Government. For the interest of Pakistani Students and Business Community Society will setup library, film shows, language classes, Business Information Centre etc at this proposed Culture Centre. Pak-China Cultural and Businessmen Society exchanges Art performers and delegations. China is home to a wide variety of Arts. On different occasions we call Chinese Dance &Acrobatic Troupes.
China has made remarkable progress in trade and has emerged as very big business centre of the world. Pakistani Business Community should get benefit from Chinese economic and business developments. We can improve our economic condition by improving business relations with Chinese business community. For this very improving business relations with Chinese business community. For this very important National cause Pak-China Cultural Society have changed their line of working and have also changed their title as Pak-China Cultural and Businessmen Society. Now we are sending a Business delegation to China. Chinese Government will give full protocol to our delegates. We are sure of their success in making big business deals.
We are working on the lines of a very famous and widely spoken Holy Hadith that “For receiving education if one need to go to China then don’t hesitate”.
